Introduction to the Mandolin
It’s not just a bluegrass instrument - mandolin shows up in all kinds of music these days. Bill Griffin has been playing the mandolin for over 40 years and can be found on recordings by folk, rock, country, Americana and Hawaiian artists. Bill will take some of the mystery off the mandolin, and explain why it might be easier to get started than you might think.

Hawaiian Slack Key Workshop with Patrick Landeza
The workshop will be focusing on technique and how to develop the slack key sound. We will work primarily the open G tuning (Taro Patch Tuning) and cover slack key scales, vamps and licks. Patrick Landeza is an award-winning Hawaiian slack key guitarist. When Patrick was in his teens, he began learning for the masters of slack key, Ray Kane, Dennis Kamakahi, Cyril Pahinui and George Kuo.  He has written lessons for Acoustic Guitar magazine and teaches slack key at the country's top music camps.

Justin Sakogawa, Shred Instructor from The Garage Band Academy will have you melting faces in no time. He’ll teach some cool guitar licks and show you how to get those smokin’ guitar tones which will get you the girl and make your friends jealous.
